Jesse Thompson - the Grand Island man who taught us the importance of bone marrow donation - has died.

Jesse was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia earlier this year.

In May, dozens came out to see if their marrow was a match for Jesse.

He died last month at the University of Minnesota Medical Center due to post-transplant complications, according to his obituary.

Jesse was 22-year-old.
