A traffic stop on Interstate 80 near the Lincoln Airport Interchange, led to the seizure of another load of holiday wrapped marijuana. For the third time this month the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) has seized marijuana wrapped in Christmas paper.

Around 12:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, a trooper with Headquarters Troop-Lincoln stopped an eastbound 1998 Dodge pickup for following too closely on I-80 one mile east of the Lincoln Airport Interchange. An NSP canine indicated the odor of marijuana coming from the bed of the pickup. A search of the pickup led to the discovery of several gift wrapped boxes. The boxes contained 42 lbs of marijuana.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, Randy G. Fleener, 55, Talmage, CA was lodged in the Lancaster County Corrections on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.

On Dec. 16, 2010, troopers made two separate traffic stops in which the vehicles held several gift wrapped packages of marijuana. The marijuana in the two previous stops totaled nearly 48 lbs.
