Two California men have been arrested and 65 pounds of marijuana have been seized after a traffic stop near Shelton in south-central Nebraska.
The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper stopped a car for speeding on a Buffalo County road around 5:30 p.m. Friday. The patrol says the trooper smelled marijuana, so the vehicle was searched. The patrol says the pot was found in four bags in the car trunk.
The driver, 31-year-old David Nguyen, and his passenger, 32-year-old Jacob Cordova, were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale. Both are from Oakland, Calif.
A Buffalo County jailer said both men remained in custody on Monday morning. Online court records don't list the names of their attorneys.
