Union Pacific railroad is supporting a group that offers free counseling to veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.

The Invictus Foundation says it received a grant from Union Pacific to support its programs.

The Omaha-based railroad has more than 10,000 employees who have served in the military, and many of its new hires are veterans.

The Invictus Foundation's CEO Peter Whalen says Union Pacific's grant will help his organization reach more veterans.
