Wildfire Burns Nearly 1 Thousand Acres Near Anselmo

A wildfire broke out near Anselmo in Custer County.
According to volunteer firefighters, Anselmo fire and Rescue responded to a grass fire around 4pm Thursday afternoon about 3 miles East of Anselmo on Highway 21 Spur.
The Custer County Sheriff's Office closed the highway between Anselmo and Victoria Springs.
Mutual aid was called from 15 surrounding departments, the National Forest at Halsey and two planes for air support. The fire was reported contained around 6:00.
Nearly 1 thousand acres were involved.
