NFL Great Junior Seau was found dead at his San Diego area home on Wednesday. Police are calling Seau's death a suicide. The apparent cause of death was a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the chest.

Seau's suicide took place during National Mental Health Awareness Month and health care providers hope this situation draws attention to the devastating consequences that can come from untreated depression.
