Terry M. Pfeifer and Karen S. Rathke have been appointed as members of the Saint Francis Medical Center board of directors. Both began serving three-year terms on July 1.
Pfeifer, who is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and Marketing. Pfeifer is presently a financial advisor for Edward Jones Investments where he has been employed since 2009.
Pfeifer is also a Trustee of Stuhr Museum, Nebraska Federation of Catholic School Parents board member, Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce board member and Diocese of Grand Island Estate Planning Committee member. He is a Leadership Tomorrow graduate.
Rathke earned a masters of science degree in Family and Consumer Science (highest distinction) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to that, she earned a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education (highest distinction).
Rathke has served as the president and chief professional officer for the Heartland United Way in Grand Island since 2000. She is the Governor-Appointed Commissioner for Nebraska Commission for Housing and Homelessness. Rathke is also a Leadership Tomorrow graduate and Rotary member.
