The end of the school year also means the end of regular meals for some children. The Summer Food Service Program works to feed the more than ninety thousand children in the state of Nebraska that face hunger.
On Wednesday afternoon kids from 220 sites across the state gathered at U.N.L's Memorial Stadium to kick off the event. The goal of the group is to increase the number of students fed throughout the summer months.
