Police say the gunman has died after a shooting that killed a law enforcement officer and another civilian near the Texas A&M University campus.

Bryan Police Department spokesman Jon Agnew says two other law enforcement officers and another woman also were injured in the Monday shooting in College Station. Bryan police are assisting in the investigation.

Assistant College Station Police Chief Scott McCollum earlier identified the officer killed as Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann.

College Station is about 90 miles northwest of Houston.

Seaton says the shooting happened within a block or two of campus sometime before 12:45 p.m. She says police have one suspect in custody.
