State police are investigating the disappearance of a miniature pony from a southwestern Pennsylvania farm.

Officials say the 500-pound pony named John Wayne disappeared late last week from the farm in Smithfield, Fayette County.

Owner Laurie Logue says the pony disappeared the night before Halloween.

Logue says someone came over the fence and swiped her prized pony, which she valued at $1,600.

State police are investigating.

Logue says she hopes whoever took the pony hasn't harmed him.
