Zombie Class Helps to Face Fears
Zombies, they could be coming and if they are-what do you do? Where do you go? How do you get ready? Can you believe there is a course to help you in case of a zomb-pocalypse? It was offered at Southeast Community College on Saturday morning. The four hour class chronicles the history of zombies including its affect on pop culture.
The thriller video scared instructor Lawrence Hernandez into becoming intrigued.
"To defeat your enemy you must know your enemy," Hernandez exclaimed.
The class, complete with a zombie walk exercise, is not just a study of the corpses without consciousness, but an opportunity to become aware of what to do in an emergency situation.
"The class shows people how to prepare for anything or how to defeat any obstacle that comes your way," said Hernandez.
"Whether it's a flood like we've seen recently or wildfires, whatever it is, the point is being prepared and the zombies is a fun way to represent that threat," Mark Antonson a student in the class remarked.
It's remarkable that a subject that is so undead can turn into something that's so alive.
