Norfolk attorney David Copple and Columbus veterinarian Jim Pillen have won the primary race for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents seat that covers northeast Nebraska
The District 3 regent hopefuls were the two top vote-getters in Tuesday's primary. Manufacturing executive Tony Raimondo Jr. was ousted from the race.
The candidates are vying to replace Regent Chuck Hassebrook, who resigned from the board to seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate before later opting to drop out of that race.
