Republican Deb Fischer and Democrat Bob Kerrey are calling on some of the biggest names in Nebraska politics to show voters the kind of U.S. senator they would be.
Both candidates have used political endorsements to sell themselves to voters in the final days before Tuesday's election.
Fischer has traveled the state with Republicans Gov. Dave Heineman and U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns, both well-established conservatives who remain popular with voters.
Kerrey points to his endorsement from former U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, a Republican who showed an independent streak when he criticized President George W. Bush's administration.
Nebraska voters on Tuesday will also choose the winners of three U.S. House races, cast ballots for 26 seats in the Legislature and decide the fate of four proposed constitutional amendments.
