Heineman Traveling to Minnesota For Japan Conference

Gov. Dave Heineman is traveling to Minnesota this weekend for a conference that seeks to boost Japan's relationship with Midwestern U.S. states.

Heineman is scheduled to attend the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association conference Sunday in Minnesota. The annual meeting of business leaders addresses issues of trade and investment between 10 Midwestern states and Japan.

The Midwest U.S.-Japan Association is comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. The association has some 100 corporate members, including Toyota Motors, Kajima Corporation and Sony.

The conferences have been held since 1967.
