Heineman to Deliver Annual Address to Lawmakers

Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman is expected to call for an increase in state aid for the University of Nebraska and tax reform proposals in his yearly address to lawmakers.

Heineman will deliver his State of the State address at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Capitol. The Republican governor will call for an increase in state aid to pay for a tuition freeze at the University of Nebraska and the state's three public colleges. He also is expected to unveil tax reform proposals.

Heineman will then embark on a press tour that includes stops in Lincoln, North Platte, Kearney, Grand Island and Norfolk. Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy will travel to Hastings, McCook, Sidney, Scottsbluff and Alliance. On Wednesday, Sheehy will visit Chadron, South Sioux City, Falls City and Beatrice.
