Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman is heading to a meeting with his fellow governors in Washington.
Heineman will attend the National Governor's Association's executive committee meeting on Tuesday.
The Republican governor has served as the group's chairman since July.
He is serving a one-year term.
The current executive committee is made up of Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire.
