U.S. Sens. Mike Johanns and Ben Nelson are scheduled to appear together at an aviation rally in Lincoln.
The Nebraska senators will speak at Duncan Aviation at the Lincoln Airport on Friday for an event designed to highlight the jobs within the general aviation industry.
The event is sponsored by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, an industry group that held a similar rally in Iowa last year to defend the use of corporate aircraft in the wake of criticism by President Barack Obama.
Obama criticized tax breaks for corporate jet owners during last year's debt ceiling debate in Washington.
The association says general aviation employs more than 1,400 Nebraskans and contributes $720 million to the state's economy annually.
Johanns is the co-founder of the Senate's General Aviation Caucus.
