Democrat Bob Kerrey aggressively questioned the Republican views of Deb Fischer during their Omaha debate, their second in the Nebraska race for the U.S. Senate.

They called for some of the same changes in Washington as they answered questions and countered each other on Friday during the campaign event at the Omaha Community Playhouse.

But they differed on several issues, including Fischer's backing of a balanced-budget amendment to address the nation's staggering debt. Kerrey said the Republican solution isn't that simple, that either the government must break its program promises or must find new ways to run or finance them.

They're scheduled to debate in Lincoln on Monday.
