Chief Justice Mike Heavican is scheduled to share his view of Nebraska's judiciary with the Legislature next week.

Heavican will give his speech the morning of Jan. 17. It will be aired on Nebraska Educational Telecommunications channel NET2 and can also be viewed online at NET's Web site, www.netnebraska.org/publicmedia/capitol.html

In his speech, Heavican is expected to highlight the judiciary's priorities for 2013 and provide an overview of what the state's judges are doing and have accomplished in the last year.

In last year's speech, Heavican announced new pilot programs designed to make state courts more efficient.

The "State of the Judiciary" speech will be Heavican's sixth.
