Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Heavican is expected to deliver his State of the Judiciary speech to lawmakers.

Heavican will address lawmakers at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Capitol's legislative chamber.

The speech will air live on Nebraska Educational Telecommunications. It serves as an opportunity for the chief justice to highlight the year's priorities for the Judicial Branch.

Heavican is expected to discuss recent projects involving the state's 144 judges and more than 1,000 non-judicial employees in courthouses and probation offices.

The "State of the Judiciary" speech will be Heavican's sixth.
