The Republican and Democratic candidates for Nebraska's open U.S. Senate seat are wasting no time in reaching out to state residents in the wake of their primary victories.
Democrat Bob Kerrey finished up a two-day fly-around tour of the state Thursday night.
Kerrey, a former two-term U.S. Senator from Nebraska and 1992 presidential candidate, won the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate on Tuesday.
His Republican rival, state Sen. Deb Fischer, began a two-day tour on Thursday.
On Friday, she'll make stops in Grand Island, Kearney, North Platte and Scottsbluff.
