Senator Deb Fischer, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced today that thirteen State Senators in the Nebraska Unicameral have endorsed her candidacy.
The backing of the thirteen Senators continues the strong momentum for Senator Fischer’s U.S. Senate campaign. From Omaha to Scottsbluff, Fischer’s endorsements range from areas all across Nebraska.
“I’m very humbled and honored to receive the support of so many of my colleagues in the Nebraska Unicameral. By working together, the Nebraska Unicameral and Governor Heineman have balanced the budget without raising taxes and that’s exactly the type of approach that we need in the United States Senate,” Senator Fischer stated. “Now more than ever, Washington needs a dose of Nebraska common sense and fiscal responsibility. I will be a U.S. Senator who will work with others to pass a balanced budget amendment and reduce spending so we can restore our nation’s long-term fiscal health.”

Sen. Fischer is a lifelong Nebraskan who co-owns a family ranching business near Valentine. Over the last seven years, Fischer has served the 43rd district in the Nebraska Legislature. Known as an experienced and effective legislator, she currently serves as Chair of the Transportation and Telecommunications Committee and is a member of the Revenue Committee and the Executive Board. Recently, Deb Fischer announced that Governor Kay Orr, Congressman John Y. McCollister, Senator Tom Hansen and Mr. Todd Schroeder will serve as her statewide campaign co-chairs.
