U.S. Senate candidate Bob Kerrey will now speak at the American Legion Cornhusker Boys and Girls State in Lincoln after a proposed debate with Republican candidate Deb Fischer failed to materialize.
Kerrey had accepted the invitation by the youth group to participate in a debate on June 5, but Fischer declined, saying she had a scheduling conflict.
Kerrey has proposed that he and Fischer engage in seven debates over the course of the general election race, with at least one in each of Nebraska's three congressional districts.
