- An Omaha police officer is recovering after being bitten and punched by a 19-year-old woman who didn't want to follow instructions.
Officer James Shade says police were called to a west Omaha apartment building around 2 a.m. Saturday because a man wanted a woman removed from his apartment.

- A 20-year-old Hemingford woman has admitted helping hide the body of a Denver man in northwest Nebraska months before her boyfriend died in an armed standoff.
Rose Siefke (SEHF'-kee) pleaded guilty Friday to being an accessory to a felony in the death of 38-year-old Josh Bullock.

- Officials say a New York college student was accidentally killed by a police officer as she was held in a headlock by an intruder pointing a gun at her head during a break-in at an off-campus home.
Nassau County police said Hofstra University junior Andrea Rebello was killed after being shot in the head when police responded to a break-in early Friday.

- A longtime faculty member at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been chosen as director of the Great Plains Veterinary Education Center in Clay Center.
The university says Dr. Dale Grotelueschen served most recently as the managing veterinarian for beef cattle veterinary operations at Pfizer/Zoetis.
