Authorities say a former Nebraska football player was driving when a boat hit a lakeside wall and injured several people - one of them fatally.
The Douglas County sheriff's department said Monday that 47-year-old Ken Graeber was driving the boat Saturday night on the lake northwest of Omaha. He played for the Huskers during the 1982-84 seasons.
Investigators say one of the injured passengers, 54-year-old Ed Mahoney, died Sunday. His wife also was injured.
Authorities say the boat rammed the wall on Bennington Lake around 10 p.m. after they left a party at one of the lakeside homes.
Officers say the driver had been drinking alcohol. No arrest has been reported.
