Five days from Nebraska and Virginia Tech kicking off in Blacksburg, Husker head coach Bo Pelini is praising the Hokies. Pelini says Virginia Tech is the type of program he'd like to model Nebraska after.

"I have a lot of respect for Beemer and his staff," Pelini said. "It hasn't been a year here or a year there, they've done it for a long time and that's something to be proud of."

Pelini, a former defensive coordinator, likes the way the Hokies play defense. "They're real sound, they're physical, they play with a great attitude," Pelini said. "I love the physicality by which they play."

Virginia Tech (1-1) is tied for 27th in the country in scoring defense after allowing 34 points to Alabama in a season opening loss.
