Shanle Helps Saints to Super Bowl Win
Former Husker Scott Shanle defends the final pass in Super Bowl XLIV, helping the Saints to a 31-17 win over the Indianpolis Colts.

The celebration was on for the New Orleans Saints the second Scott Shanle helped the Colts final pass fall incomplete. Shanle was closing in on Indianapolis wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who dropped the pass, putting an end to Super Bowl XLIV. Shanle jumped in the air in celebration, winning his first NFL Championship.
The former Husker finished with 6 tackles, third best on the team. Shanle also had a pair of pass breakups.
Along with Shanle, fellow former Husker Carl Nicks started for the Saints. Nicks helped keep pressure off quarterback Drew Brees all night. Brees tied a Super Bowl record with 32 pass completions.
