The Nebraska Republican Party took aim at Sen. Ben Nelson Wednesday, saying Nelson supports the kind of policies opposed by Tea Party protestors.
Organizers say the Tea Parties taking place across the nation Wednesday protest the growth of federal spending and the expansion of the federal government.
A statement from the state GOP said the Tea Parties prove dissatisfaction with policies of the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress.
“I hope that Senator Ben Nelson and his Democratic cronies in Washington see these demonstrations across Nebraska for what they are—a glimpse of the next elections,” said NEGOP Chairman Mark Fahleson. “Sen. Nelson can’t dismiss these protests as temporary taxpayer angst. Rather, they are a direct result of Sen. Nelson’s support of an unprecedented expansion of the size and scope of the federal government and the increased tax burden being heaped upon Nebraskans as a result. These protests are for you, Senator.”

blaaa blaaa blaaa. politics. You know what? I wish I made enough money to have to pay in to the I.R.S. every April.
All you retarded socialists that keep blaming Bush, I got news for you, all Washington is at fault and that is why we are mad as hell! If you want to sit back and get raped by the government, go ahead, I for one am sick and tired of this government stealing our money and blowing it left and right on socialist agendas! We are mad as hell that washington does not listen! I want all of Washington thrown out and stop destroying this countries future by burying us in trillions of dollars of I owe you's and giving this country to China! And for ignorants like Julie I have news for you, the deficet under Bush was 500 billion, after only 90 days of Obama, it already close to 2 trillion!!! Get your facts straight instead of just spewing socialist talking points!!!
All the Democrats on here keep talking about how the Tea parties are drones or media made up. I find that hypocritical since that is all we get from the Democrat party. Especially all the excuses they are giving to attempt to devalue these protests. I am not a pawn of the Republican party! I am ANGRY about the irresponsible spending of the Congress, House, and President. Yes, I disagreed with Bush when he did it too...that's why the Democrats won, but way to go...it's ten times worse now. Even the Congressional Budget Office has said that the spending is the BIGGEST spending by any president and they say it will NOT work. All these pork programs must be paid for by higher taxes (forth coming,) a repeal of any other tax breaks, HUGE inflation from the printing of money beyond our supply, and finally the blindness to the cost of maintaining these programs they haphazardly threw into the Bills...without reading them! Throw all of them out of the House/senate and get a FAIR TAX!
Bush Bush Bush... come on already. The last I checked he was gone. The past is the past. We're talking about the present and the future. Regardless of what he did and/or didn't do has no bearing on what the government is doing now. Quit bickering and LOOK WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW! This is an American issue, not a political one. Everyone needs to be at least skeptical of the massive changes. Open your eyes and forget about who is wrong or right. We are losing our freedoms.
First of all, where do Republicans get off thinking these Tea Parties are only against Democrats? Republicans are probably more to blame for the gov't expansion than Dems are. Republicans are supposed to be the party of less gov't spending and personal accountability. Yet, during the Bush admin, not 1 spending bill veto. Not ONE. The deficit grew at unprecedented amounts. Throw in the fact Bush ok'd the first round of Wall Street bailouts. So as someone who considers themselves a Republican, it makes me sick that my party thinks the Americans are just speaking out against the Democrats. Wake up! It is against all you hypocrites in Washington! We are sick of your promises of reform, we are sick of you expanding gov't spending, we are sick of the taxes! You are all to blame, Dems AND Republicans. Get a clue already!
You can't spend more and tax less - THAT is the fiction that many of you live with. Not only are they financing their expenditures with more debt than bush could cook up (pretty phenomenal) but they CONTINUE the same bad policy of corporatism and insane Keynesian economics. You ARE paying for this - you might see less money taken from your paycheck, but since your employer is gonna see huge tax increases, your wage would most likely fall, and on top of that your money buys less and less every day - we're on the verge of hyperinflation a'la weimar republic. Quit living in wonderland people - I'm glad the republicans just decided to wake up - they do a good job in opposition. It's the democrats turn to realize these thing's don't work and join us too. Reject partisanship - it's just a method to divide us from the real issues.
Dave, you missed the point of your conservative citizens and bought into the propaganda. Yes, you received a few more bucks in your pocket today but will pay for it at the pump, the grocery store, and everywhere else as the value of the precious dollars you are now getting from Obama will buy much less. Inflation will soon follow and you'll wish you didn't follow the drones. The stimulus debt is on the backs of all Americans, Republicans and Democrats. Are you serious you don't understand you will owe more for much longer in some form or fashion? It's scary to think there are so many people that don't plan for their future and just live for the day. I hope you don't have children or grand children. They would be disappointed with your selfish choices of today. Ps... Bush isn't President. Let it go. Pss... Yes WE can. Tea Parties are just the beginning. Psss... Republicans favor the opportunities freedom has to offer. But, it's also pretty nice when it makes us wealthy. Try it.
Minimal income tax relief combined with massive tax hikes on goods and services does NOT equal a tax cut! Bailouts serve the rich
Mr. Nelson does not get it. Him and his staff have the nerve to lie to us by saying that he READ the entire stimulus bill. I wonder what other lies he is and has told us?
If Nelson has his way more Americans will not pay any federal taxes than those that do. His arrogance is sickening!
These tea parties are an embarrassment and a joke. When Bush wracked up the largest deficit in the history of mankind these people weren't complaining, and they were paying more taxes under Bush (Obama CUT taxes). Now that the government is forced to spend more to get us out of this mess, all of a sudden they don't want the government to spend money because their children will have to pay the debt? Give me a break! These "tea parties" ring pretty hollow coming from these hypocrites.
The tax increases for 95% of the people is fiction. I'm lower middle class and I'm already seeing less taxes taken from my check thanks to Obama. The Republican politicians do make over $250,000.00 and they will be made to pay their fair share of their taxes when bush's tax cuts for the wealthy expires. Fact is 95% of Americans will see a tax cut! The Republican's favor the wealthy which is why they are brainwashing their followers about their taxes to get them to help out the rich and not the people! GO OBAMA!!!!!!! Your doing a great job!
So Grundle, can you think on your own or only regurgitate the talking points your party tells you to say? Your facts are actually fiction, and if you'd take any time to verify the "truth" they are selling you you'd know that. the simple economics of the situation dictates that the purchaser of last resort (i.e., the govt) spend money it may not have because all business, private, and household spending stopped in late 2007. When all the tax cuts circa 2001/2003 didn't stimulate demand for products long term, in order to stop this recession the government had to spend money to keep healthy businesses from also succumbing to the recession. remember the great depression? healthy businesses would have folded without the stimulus bill (which was "pork" free btw) and so on. don't forget that at the dawn of WWII we had a much higher deficit as % of GDP, and within 20 years our economy was booming and the deficit/debt was gone. the plan in place uses that as a model to adress both issue.
I'm so glad to see the interest by way of the Tea Party in Lincoln, Nebraska. We need Ben Nelson to be held accountable for voting on a bill he couldn't have read! Enough on the bail-outs, reckless spending, generational theft, and sending this country down the wrong path! This is NOT the change anyone asked or voted for!
I don't get these tea parties. I am having less money taken out of my pay check. Things are good! I can't imagine anyone wouldn't like what the current government is doing!
