Norm Agena announced his intention to seek re-election for Assessor/Register of Deeds.

“It is my goal to continue to improve the assessment process, make the office more efficient with the use of technology, and continue to efficiently provide accurate property information to the public, title companies, attorneys, and other governmental agencies.” Agena said.

“I am committed to establishing market values for the real property in Lancaster County, and the equalization of those values. I am committed to efficiently managing the Assessor/Register of Deeds Offices. Those commitments remain the same as when I first ran for this office in 1990. I enjoy the challenge of the job and dealing with the property owners in Lancaster County.” Agena said.

“I will continue to improve the professionalism of the staff and provide an office and web site that is user friendly.” Agena said.

Agena has always been involved with proposing and lobbying for legislative bills that have an effect on the assessment process in Nebraska and will continue to do so.

“My goal is, and has always been, to ensure that all property owners are treated equally. I do not play politics, I do my job as required by State Statute and Rules and Regulations provided by the Department of Revenue Property Assessment Division.” Agena said.

Agena has been the Assessor for 12 years and the Assessor/Register of Deeds for 8 years. Agena is past president of the Nebraska County Assessor’s Association, as well as a member of LIBA and the Realtors Association of Lincoln, and a member of the IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers.) Agena is a certified Nebraska assessor, a licensed real estate broker, and a general certified appraiser. He has been associated with the real estate industry since 1966, beginning in the savings and loan industry, then as a real estate agent and owner of a real estate brokerage and appraisal company. In addition, Agena has taught a variety of real estate appraisal classes.
