Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska is a "yes" in a crucial weekend test vote on health care.
The moderate lawmaker told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., that he would vote with rank-and-file Democrats to move ahead on the legislation.
In a statement Friday, Nelson says the Senate should try to fix a health care system that costs too much and delivers too little for Nebraskans.
The vote is scheduled for Saturday night, and Democrats need the support of every senator in their party to move the bill forward over Republicans' objections.

prepare yourself for higher insurance premiums, do the math, the state will have to pick up an expanded medicaide system, more will be eligible, the answer is fix what is broken, and not to throw the baby out with teh bath water, this has never been done, all looks better on paper, wait until this thing is practically applied, we all will be crying,

This was a vote to bring this to a discussion. We need to talk about this and find a way to bring down health care cost. You may think you have affordable coverage today but be careful, the next time your employer renews your group coverage you may find different results. I am paying over $500.00 per month for family coverage in addition to what my job pays and it will, (not may) will get worse. Everybody yells “we can’t afford this”, while true, we absolutely cannot afford not to move in this direction. Be part of the answer not part of the group that does nothing but whine about it.

I commend Senator Nelson for his courageous vote. This Health Reform Bill is Nebraska Values in the form of a law. A vote against this bill is a vote against Nebraska Values.

Why doesn't Nelson tell the truth.. He is just a yes man for Obama's far left comrades like Polosi and Reed... Get a Backbone and stand up to them like our only Real Senator..Senator Mike Johanns...Nelson is apparently only going to do what Polosi and Reed tell him to do...

Thank you for voting FOR the health care reform bill. I'm a Nebraskan who appreciates your vote for the good of all, rather than for the good of "me and mine".

I emailed him to not vote for the health care bill. Now if not passed, they can change it to an appropriations bill and only need 51 votes to pass it. I will never vote for Ben again.

Sen Nelson has waffled up to the last minute. Now he jumps on the band wagon. Does everyone know that he was just give 2 leadership postions on important committee's. Hmmm? I am a Republican that used to vote for his moderate style. NO LONGER!! I can't wait until the next election to vote for ANYBODY else to show them that we will not stand by while they do this to us!! ENOUGH!

How very disappointing! My vote and those of my family and friends will not be tallied towards you. Our new goal, ensure the next senator in your place votes for the majority of Nebraska, and not swayed by a "mobster" like administration.

Health Care needs to be looked at but this is a very wrong way to go! A 2000 page bill that will cost Us,or Kids,or Grandkids for some time to come! It will be a cost that will take us all down. Reform should make everything affordable and balance the budget. Not the other way around!

A man with two faces represents no one but himself. He has given our future away and stabbed the american way of life and put his acceptance of socialism on the top of his list. This is the way to take free enterprise out and replace it with government rule. China and Russia rejoicing on thier government vitory without ever fiing a shot of munician.GENRAL NELSON, you lead your commerades well despite your lack of leadership.
