U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson says whoever leaked classified U.S. military documents on the Afghanistan war is a traitor who should be tried for treason.

The Nebraska Democrat commented Wednesday during a conference call with reporters.

The classified information was published by the online site WikiLeaks on Sunday. The FBI and Defense Department are conducting a criminal investigation.

Nelson and other U.S. officials say American operatives inside Afghanistan and Pakistan may be in danger following the massive online disclosure.

Nelson said there's no punitive action that can be taken against WikiLeaks but that it is crucial to "vigorously" pursue the source of the leaks.

Nelson is a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Wow Nelson, you are one tough talking son of a gun when you realize that you are not as popular as you once were. You can shut off your bologny chute and kick back and wait for a "farm check" for your "farms" out there on the hills of the Platte valley. How much money do you need Nelson? I have no more respect for you Nelson than you have for me. Keep sucking up that money Ben. You are finished!
