Secretary of State John Gale’s office will be providing a new online system to report unofficial results for the Nov. 2 Nebraska general election.
The new system will provide several improvements compared to the previous system, including better graphic presentation, maps and breakdowns by counties, Gale noted. The new system utilizes more modern technology.
The election results can be found at the secretary of state’s website or http://electionresults.sos.ne.gov/.
The new online system will provide results for a variety of contests such as Congress, state races and issues, and races involving multi-county areas.
“I think the new system will be a great improvement and will allow people more tools to analyze the results,” Gale said.
The new system was developed by the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office, and the base system was provided free of charge to other states. Minimal cost was necessary to modify the system for Nebraska use.
“I want to thank South Dakota Secretary of State Chris Nelson for his generosity in providing the system,” Gale said.
