Thursday is the last day of school for Lincoln Public Schools. Wednesday, one Capital City school celebrated the end of the year, by taking a peek at their new school.
Arnold Elementary School, located in Air Park, has been operating out of their current building for 50 years.
Wednesday, students, teachers and parents, had a chance to learn the new walking route to school, traveling from the old building to the new.
Staff say the walk was important for kids to see the safe route themselves.
"That was a big purpose for our walk today, was to see that location and for them and parents to see a safe way to get to school and to get home from school for next year," said Kathy Honeycutt, Principal, Arnold Elementary School.
As a way to remember their old building, nearly 700 students and teachers lined up in the front lawn of their old building, spelling out the word 'Arnold'.
The new Arnold Elementary School is expected to open next fall.

Congratulations Arnold! It's long overdue. A HUGE piece of my heart is with you after teaching there almost 20 years.
I attended Arnold from 1992-1999, it will be sorta sad to see the old building go, lot's of memories there!
