Huskers fall to hot-shooting Illinois

Malcolm Hill scored 19 points and Illinois went on a 3-point shooting spree in the second half in a 73-57 victory over Nebraska on Sunday.


After dropping a 7-5 decision to the defending Pac-12 champion Utah Utes (5-2, 0-0 Pac-12) on Friday night, the Nebraska baseball team (2-4, 0-0 Big Ten) responded with a 4-3 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers outhit the Utes, 10-3, on the day, while relievers Chad Luensmann and Luis Alvarado combined for 4.2 shutout innings, with Luensmann earning his first win of the season and Alvarado earning his first career save.


A six-run fourth inning powered the Nebraska softball team to a 10-6 victory over Oregon State on Sunday in the Huskers' final game at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.


Jessica Shepard scored a season-high 32 points and Hannah Whitish added a career-high 24 to lead the Nebraska women’s basketball team to a 76-74 overtime win over Michigan State on Sunday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
