The Grand Island football team enters the 2012 season following a 9-2 mark last year. The team only returns 1 starter on the offensive side of the ball, which means the team must replace a bunch of players.
Steven Cahoy takes over as the starting quarterback, replacing Ryker Fyfe who is walking on at Nebraska.
Head Coach Jeff Tomlin isn't concerned about the team's ability this season as they look to get where they need to be.
"I think the main thing is we build around what we have, we have a lot of guys that don't necessarily have the same skill set but can do a lot of good things, now we got to tailor what we do, to what we have coming back, we're confident that guys are going to step up, we're going to put the pieces of the puzzle together and be just fine."
Grand Island opens the season August 24 against Lincoln Northeast.
