The Hastings St. Cecilia Bluehawks went an impressive 10-1 last season, their only loss coming in a playoff game against St. Patrick's. Coach Carl Tesmer returns for his 21 year at St. Cecilia as well as returning six offensive starters and seven defensive starters. But Coach Tesmer and his players are all in favor of keeping the St. Cecilia tradition of winning very much alive.

"I just think we have a lot of talent here at the school. We're very blessed," Tesmer said. "We've had that talent for 20 years, it's just been amazing. We're still not dry, we just have a lot of good athletes that work hard in the offseason and have a lot of athletic ability and talent and play hard."

Senior Quarterback Xavier Schmidt added, "I think we just keep pushing ourselves from the year before, trying not to be a let down year, trying to keep the tradition going, make the alumni happy, and just keep it going."

The Bluehawks kickoff their season on August 31st against Centennial High School in Utica.
