The game between Beatrice and Elkhorn South came down to an 18-yard field goal by Zach Decker proving to be the difference in a 10-7 win on Friday night.
Friday night's win for Beatrice ushered in a new beginning for the team. For the first time since 1911, the Orangemen have a new stadium to play at, a $2 million dollar facility.
Decker's game-winning field goal was set up by an Elkhorn South fumble giving Beatrice the ball with just 1:27 left in the game. Five straight rushing plays put the ball at the 1 yard line, giving Decker the chance to win the game.
Beatrice goes on the road to face Bennington next Friday.
