Class C1: Wahoo 73, Minden 69
Max Cook led Wahoo with a team-high 23 points and a 73-69 win over Minden to claim a spot in the Class C1 championship game. Ben Scheef added 21 points and Jonathan Abbott chipped in 13 points in the win. Wahoo hit 6 three-pointers in the game.
Carson Blum led Minden with 20 points and Derek Kissinger added 15 points in the loss. Minden hit 15 three pointers, setting a Class C1 state record. The record was previously held by C.J. Cowgill of Grand Island Central Catholic who had 11 in 1996.
Wahoo meets the winner of Bishop Neumann and Boys Town in the Class C1 championship.
Class D1: St. Mary’s 45, Humphrey St. Francis 44
Adam Moon scored a team-high 15 points to lead St. Mary’s to a 45-44 win over Humphrey St. Francis and a spot in the Class D1 state championship game on Saturday. Tait Sibbel added 13 points in the win.
Jake Werner led Humphrey St. Francis with 11 points. Blake Krings, John Wieser and Nathan Classen had 8 points each in the game.
