For the Lincoln Christian boys basketball team, winning was a word the Crusaders needed to have in its vocabulary. Lincoln Christian got back on the winning track, edging Crete 60-59 Thursday night.

The Crusaders didn't have a good holiday break, losing both of its games in the Bishop Neumann Holiday Tournament, the first to undefeated Wahoo 63-60 and falling 55-43 to Bishop Neumann.

Early on in Thursday's game, it looked like the losing streak might continue as Crete was down 10 points at halftime, then built a nine-point lead in the 4th quarter before Lincoln Christian pulled away to get the win.

Grant Teckmeyer helped the Crusaders to the win, scoring a team-high 17 points. Derek McGinnis led the Cardinals in scoring with a team-high 23 points.

Lincoln Christian (7-3) goes back on the road for its next two games. Hastings St. Cecilia is first up on Saturday, and then Columbus Scotus next Friday, before returning home to face Seward.

The Crusaders face tough competition down the stretch as they still have the Centennial Conference Tournament to play as well as go on the road, facing undefeated Johnson County Central and Boys Town before concluding the regular season against Norris.
