The Lincoln East offense rose to the occasion behind the play of quarterback Grant Ozaki, as he powered the Spartans to a narrow 20-19 win over Lincoln North Star Thursday night at Seacrest Field in Lincoln.

Lincoln North Star took a 19-7 lead heading into the 4th quarter, but Lincoln East added two touchdowns in the final frame to get the narrow win.

North Star played a solid game behind the rushing attack of Michael Minter, son of former Husker and NFL standout Mike Minter. The younger Minter ran for 71 and two touchdowns in the game.

Lincoln East (1-0) takes on Kearney next Friday at Seacrest Field, while Lincoln North Star (0-1) travels up Interstate 80 to face Omaha Benson.
