Anthony Vigneri ran 25 times for 104 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown to lead No. 4 Omaha Gross to its first state football championship with a 14-7 victory over No. 7 Norris in the Class B final Tuesday night.
Vigneri's 2-yard touchdown late in the third quarter came at the end of a 16-play, 83-yard drive that chewed more than 7 minutes off the clock.
Vigneri had scored on a 3-yard run in the second quarter for the first points of the game, but Gross missed the extra point.
Norris took a 7-6 lead into halftime after Jakson Reetz threw a 37-yard TD pass to Byron Hood.
Zach Johnk completed 8 of 13 passes for 62 yards for the Cougars (12-1).
James Kruger led Norris (10-3) with 103 yards on 24 carries. Reetz was 7 of 15 for 81 yards, with one interception.
