All Lincoln Southeast running back Devin Washington needed to do was break loose a couple of times, score a couple of touchdowns, and run for 146 yards in a 28-6 victory over Lincoln High at Seacrest Field.
The top-ranked and defending Class A champion Knights found themselves trailing 6-0 early on in the first quarter. Washington got out to a 36-yard run giving Southeast its first lead at 7-6 in the second quarter - and they never looked back after that.
Lincoln High ran 63 plays for 247 yards while Lincoln Southeast ran just 38 plays for a total of 359 yards - in large part to Washington's performance.
Lincoln Southeast (2-0) takes on Millard South next Friday while Lincoln High (1-2) faces Lincoln Northeast.
