The Beatrice Orangemen have a new head coach and the school didn't have to look far to find the right candidate for the job. Matt Zajicek takes over the reins of a program that's had success in recent years.

Zajicek played for Beatrice in the mid '90s, playing under former Beatrice head coach, Jim Weeks, who now is the head coach at Doane College.

Zajicek has spent 10 seasons as an assistant, making stops at Lincoln Southwest, Lincoln High and Lincoln North Star.
