Nebraska and adidas unveil Husker alternative uniforms

The University of Nebraska and adidas today unveiled the new Husker Chrome alternate football uniform, which will be worn Saturday, September 24th at Northwestern.

Cesar Valera delivered the walk-off single in a brilliant outing from Lindsey Caughel as the first-place Saltdogs (47-40) toppled the Gary SouthShore RailCats (45-43) 2-1 in front of 2,793 fans at Haymarket Park.

The Friend Bulldogs look to bounce back after missing the playoffs for the first time in 5 seasons. The Dogs finished 3-5 in 2015. This year Friend will drop down a class from D1 to D2 but head coach Jim Pfeiffer says that expectations remain high.

The Sutton Mustangs return 9 starters from last year's 9-2 season, including Garrett Leach. Leach rushed for 2,096 yards and 19 touchdowns during the 2015 campaign.

The top-ranked Nebraska volleyball team was unanimously picked as the favorite in the Big Ten Conference Preseason Poll selected by the Big Ten's 14 head coaches. After claiming their fourth national title last season, the Huskers top the preseason poll for the first time since 2012.
