LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska pitchers held North Dakota State to one run in 15 innings today (Wednesday) as the Cornhuskers swept the Bison in a doubleheader, 12-to-one and ten-to-zero.
Andy Gerch went five-for-seven overall and had two R-B-Is as Nebraska upped its season record to 29-and-six.
Tyrus Powe brought in the only run for North Dakota State during the two games, forced by a rainout of the teams' single game yesterday (Tuesday). The Bison are now two-25-and-one.
Nebraska outhit the Bison in both games, getting ten and 15 hits respectively to North Dakota State's seven and four.
In the first game, Nebraska brought in six runs in the fourth inning. The next inning, Nebraska made it 12-nothing.
Tony Watson won that game while Terry Tchida took the loss.
In the second game, Ryan Bohanan took the win and Tom Branca took the loss.
In that game, the Cornhuskers had a five-run second inning, adding a few more in the following innings, until the final pair came in the eighth.
