Nebraska athletic director Steve Pederson says coach Bill Callahan's four percent raise is basically a cost-of-living increase. Callahan received the pay bump in the wake of the Cornhuskers' first losing season since 1961. Callahan enters his second season at Nebraska with a base salary of $337,838 . Callahan's base salary was $325,000 last year. His total compensation is more than 1.5 million dollars a year. Callahan's contract does not require annual increases in base pay. The athletic department's budget is an all-time high of 62.6 million dollars. Nine department administrators will earn more than $100,000 topped by Pederson's $363,825 .
