Husker Football

Quarterback Zac Taylor says he wouldn't want to imagine where the Cornhuskers would be if it weren't for their defense and special teams.

Taylor says the Huskers are living on the edge. Saturday they needed a blocked field goal as time ran out to preserve a 7-6 win over Pittsburgh.

Offensive coordinator Jay Norvell says it might take some time for the Huskers to find their rhythm. The Huskers are among 34 unbeaten teams in the major-college ranks despite sitting 106th out of 117 One-A teams in offense.

At times Saturday it looked as if the Huskers were getting worse rather than better.

All 11 of Nebraska's penalties were committed by the offense. Among the calls were four false starts, two illegal formations, one illegal receiver downfield and one offensive pass interference.
