The Aurora Huskies have a new playing surface for the 2012 season as Field Turf was laid down over the summer months. Aurora will get to play on the new field when they host perennial power McCook in the season opener on August 24.
The Huskies are coming off an 8-3 season and a trip to the Class B quarterfinals and they're ready to make a run this season.
"We've made some adjustments defensively that we think will help, but its pretty much the same scheme of last year. Offensively, we just want to distribute the ball to our playmakers, so we're going to be running and passing and mixing it up having a good balance between the two," head coach Randy Huebert said.
"Make every play like its your last. Right now that's what we're doing... focusing on every play. Even when you're sitting out on the sideline, we're taking mental reps every play we're here to make us better or worse," senior wide receiver/safety Ben McQuiston commented.
