Nebraska is the number-six national seed in the NCAA baseball tournament. That word Monday morning from the Division One Baseball Committee.
The national seeding means the Cornhuskers will play at home in the super-regional round if they win the regional to be played this week at Haymarket Park.
The 42 and 15 Huskers open the regional Friday against 32-and-21 Manhattan. 38 and 21 San Francisco plays 36-and-21 Miami in the other first-round game.
Game times have not been set.
San Francisco is in the NCAA tournament for the first time. Miami will be making its 34th straight postseason appearance.
Manhattan is in the tournament for the first time since 1957. The Jaspers earned the program's first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship over the weekend.
The winner of the Lincoln regional meets the winner of the Oxford, Miss., regional in the best-of-three super regional.
