Jeff Tezak is entering his senior year...for the second time. Tezak is repeating his senior season, after being granted a medical redshirt in 2008. The Nebraska designated hitter played in just 7 games last year, before undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a torn ACL.
Nearly 11 months later, Tezak says he's healthy and ready to play again.
"I've got something to prove still," Tezak said. "I have to prove it to myself and my team that I can come back from a traumatic injury. This year is going to be - prove it to myself and my team and everyone out there that I can come back from any injury."
Tezak was a second-team All-Big 12 selection during his junior campaign. He led the team with a .335 batting average. "I remember him being a good hitter," head coach Mike Anderson said. Anderson has been impressed with Tezak's drive to overcome his injury. He said he is hopeful Tezak can return to 2007 form.
